The challenge trophy was not advertised through the year but was played for during the first Reserve Men's round which is the HBHA cup. It was held initially by Passmasters who lost it to Tech in the second round. Tech then defended it from there to the end of that round. So it was a clean sweep of trophies in the reserve grade for Tech Men this year! (Challenge Trophy, HBHA Cup and Championship Sheild)

Men's Reserve Grade Champions 2011
Tech Men beat Lindisfarne 3-2 in a real nailbiter to claim 1st in Men's Reserve Grade. Three outstanding goals and a well organised and disciplined defence proved the difference versus an enegetic Lindisfarne team.
The final capped off a very successful year for the Men's team, winning both the HBHA Reserve Grade Cup as well as the Reserve Grade Championship and only one loss in the final two rounds.
Tech Women's teams have also performed well this year with Tech White losing 3-1 to Akina Blue in the grand final and Tech Red beating Te Awa 7-0 in play off for 5th and 6th.

Hockey in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, is played at Kelt Capital Hockey Stadium located off Clyde Jeffery Drive, Park Island, Napier. The stadium includes two water based turfs, as well as changing rooms and cafe/bar facilities.
